Journeyman Software Developer

Greenfield Engineering, a Saalex Company, is seeking a Journeyman Software Developer in Patuxent River, MD. The Journeyman Software Developer will support mission-critical DoD programs through the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software solutions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in computer science, hands-on development experience, and familiarity with Agile methodologies to contribute to secure, scalable applications in a collaborative environment. Position Type: Full-Time Salary: $110k-$125k annually (depending upon experience) Work Location: Onsite at Patuxent River, MD. Essential Functions - Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications using modern programming practices - Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code in C++ and other object-oriented languages - Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives - Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects to ensure system reliability and performance - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and implement technical solutions - Support system enhancements by adding new features and optimizing existing functionality - Contribute to software testing efforts, including unit testing and integration testing - Assist with version control, build pipelines, and deployment activities Requirements Required: - Experience developing in C++. - Experience working in an Agile environment (Scrum or similar). - Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC). - Experience with debugging, testing, and maintaining applications. Desired: - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, or Jenkins. - Knowledge of JMPS/NOMS. - Experience with Python, Java, or JavaScript. - Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS preferred). - Experience with web development frameworks (React, Flask, Spring Boot). Education / Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related Engineering field (required) and 3-10 years of relevant professional or internship experience in software development required. Security Clearance: Active Secret clearance required.
