Connect an AI app
Pick the app you use. You add one address, sign in to ResuMax, and approve access. Connecting is free and does not start a subscription.
Step 1: Add ResuMax as a custom connector
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors. Choose +, then Add custom connector, paste this address, and choose Add. Leave Advanced settings empty.
https://resumax.ai/api/mcpOn a Team or Enterprise plan, an owner adds it first in Organization settings, then you choose Connect.
Open Claude connectors(opens in a new tab)Step 2: Sign in and approve
Choose Connect next to ResuMax. A ResuMax page opens in your browser. Sign in, or create a free account, then check the app name and the access it asks for before you approve. Claude never sees your password.
Step 3: Send your first request
In a new chat, choose +, then Connectors, and turn on ResuMax. Then try this request:
Using ResuMax, find remote backend engineer jobs posted in the last week.Change the role and location to match your search.
No resume in ResuMax yet? Attach your resume or paste its text, then say “Add my resume to ResuMax.” ResuMax saves it as a new resume you can edit. This works on every plan, including Free.

ResuMax is not listed in the ChatGPT app directory yet. You can add it yourself in ChatGPT on the web with developer mode turned on: in Apps settings, create an app, paste this address, and choose OAuth.
https://resumax.ai/api/mcpIf you cannot create an app, your workspace admin may need to allow it. Claude and Codex work without developer mode.
Step 2: Sign in and approve
Continue until ChatGPT asks you to sign in to ResuMax. A ResuMax page opens in your browser. Sign in, or create a free account, then check the app name and the access it asks for before you approve. ChatGPT never sees your password.

You stay in control
Your AI app gets a short list of career tools, not your account. It never receives your password, and ResuMax cannot submit applications, contact employers, or send messages for you.
- Only your account
Every request runs as your ResuMax account, through the app you approved, and reaches only your own data.
- Private by default
Lists leave out contact details, recruiter notes, and full document text.
- Review before save
Tailoring shows the proposed changes first. Saving creates a new version only after you approve, and your original stays as it was.
- Disconnect anytime
Settings lists each connected app and its recent actions. Disconnect one and its access ends immediately. Your documents stay.

Common questions
Does connecting cost anything?
No. Connecting is free on every plan and never starts a subscription or opens checkout. If you ask for something your plan does not include, ResuMax stops before running it and replies with a link to compare plans.
Do I need a ResuMax account first?
You need one, but you do not have to set it up first. When your AI app opens the ResuMax sign-in page, you can sign in or create a free account there.
What does my AI app see?
Only the results of the requests you make, such as a job search or a resume review. Your AI app handles those results under its own privacy terms. It never receives your ResuMax password.
Can I connect more than one app?
Yes. Connect each app separately. Each one appears in ResuMax Settings, where you can disconnect it on its own.
What if setup does not work?
Start the connection again from your AI app; sign-in links expire quickly. If it still fails, the connection help page lists each error message and what to do.
